Terms of Use
Last updated: March 24, 2026
Welcome to Corus, a social music-sharing app operated by Cymbal Media, Inc. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By using the Corus app or website at corus.fm ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Corus. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your information up to date. You must not share your account or allow others to access it. You may not create multiple accounts, use automated tools to create accounts, or transfer your account to another person. We reserve the right to reclaim usernames that are inactive, misleading, or infringe on trademarks.
3. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you post on Corus, including captions, comments, direct messages, voice notes, and profile information ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant Cymbal Media, Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or account, except where your content has been shared with others and they have not deleted it.
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to post your User Content and that it does not infringe any third party's rights.
Song metadata (track names, artist names, album art) displayed in the app is sourced from the Spotify Web API and remains the property of the respective rights holders. Corus does not stream, host, or distribute music files.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, threatening, or discriminatory
- Post sexually explicit material or content depicting violence or self-harm
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Spam, send unsolicited messages, or engage in deceptive practices
- Bully, stalk, or intimidate other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, collect data from, or interact with the Service without our prior written consent
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Circumvent any content moderation, blocking, or safety features
- Use the Service to promote or facilitate illegal activity
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the app
Cymbal Media, Inc. reserves the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these rules, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
5. Subscriptions and Purchases
Corus offers an optional paid subscription ("Corus Club") that provides additional features. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and pricing.
- Billing. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to Club features until then.
- Refunds. All payments are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be directed to Apple in accordance with their refund policies.
- Price changes. We may change subscription pricing at any time. Price changes for existing subscribers take effect at the start of the next billing period following notice.
- Free tier. Corus's core features remain available without a subscription, subject to reasonable usage limits (such as daily post limits for free accounts).
6. Direct Messages and Voice Notes
Corus provides direct messaging and voice note features between users. Messages and voice notes are stored on our servers to deliver the service. We do not use message content for advertising. You are responsible for the content of your messages and must not use messaging for harassment, spam, or sharing illegal content. We reserve the right to review messages when investigating reports of abuse.
7. Copyright and DMCA
We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on Corus infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to our designated agent at help@corus.fm with the following information:
- A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed
- A description of where the infringing material is located on the Service
- Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
We may remove or disable access to infringing content and may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
8. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service or other users. We are not required to provide notice before suspension or termination, though we will make reasonable efforts to do so when practical.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Upon deletion, your profile, posts, comments, likes, saves, follower relationships, messages, and voice notes will be permanently removed.
9. Intellectual Property
The Corus name, logo, design system, and app design are the property of Cymbal Media, Inc. You may not use our branding without written permission. All other trademarks, service marks, and trade names referenced in the Service belong to their respective owners.
10. Third-Party Services
Corus integrates with third-party services including Spotify (for song data), Firebase (for infrastructure), RevenueCat (for subscription management), and Cloudflare (for website hosting). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Cymbal Media, Inc. is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of song metadata or any other content available through the Service.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cymbal Media, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, or any other legal theory, regardless of whether we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amounts you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cymbal Media, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution in the courts described below. You agree that any claims will be brought individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cymbal Media, Inc. regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
19. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact Cymbal Media, Inc. at help@corus.fm.
